Barça infuriate Valencia President

Thursday 21 June 2012

Valencia President Manuel Llorente has slammed Barcelona after the Catalans signed two 12-year-olds from their youth academy.

Barça’s Youth Academy Technical Director Guillermo Amor landed the pair two weeks ago after coming to an arrangement with the boys’ parents – a move that has enraged Llorente.

Now, the Valencia supremo has come out fighting, and in the face of what they see as unethical conduct, Llorente said: “They’re going to really pay for this.

“They’ve broken the code of conduct between the clubs. It’s inexplicable that an organisation with their budget goes around signing 12-year-old kids.”

The move will see midfielder Enric and striker Abel switch to La Masia, Barcelona’s famed academy, and despite the protestations, no binding contract was in place with the boys due to their age.
