Liverpool make £5m bid for Swansea forward Sinclair
Liverpool have made a £5m offer for Swansea forward Scott Sinclair and are also keeping tabs on Sinclair’s teammate Joe Allen, The Daily Star reports.
The former Chelsea forward has caught the eye of Kenny Dalglish with his performances at the Liberty Stadium and Dalglish sees him as an ideal signing. Sinclair can play as a wideman or upfront and is bang in goalscoring form so far this season, adding to his total with his fourth penalty off the season in the win over Arsenal on Sunday. Liverpool have scored just 24 goals in 21 Premier League games and Dalglish is desperate for a source of goals to ease the worries at Anfield.
21 year old Allen has been with Swansea since he was nine and signed a new deal at the start of the season. Swansea boss Brendan Rodgers is desperate to hold on to both players and sees Allen as vital in the passing style of the South Wales side. Liverpool are waiting for a move for Allen, but are more keen on securing Sinclair. Liverpool director of football Damien Comolli is keen to sign the best young talent and has encouraged Dalglish to make strides in signing the Swansea duo.
The Reds have also invited 14 year old Swedish teen sensation Abdul Aziz for a trial at Melwood. The IFK Norrkoping attacker will spend a week under the watchful eye of Liverpool Academy Director Frank McParland, before the Reds decide their best course of action. Aziz has represented Sweden at youth level and Liverpool have jumped to the top of the queue ahead of Inter and AC Milan in the signing of the 14 year old.
