Redknapp confirms Tottenham interest in Hazard

By Andy Brunning

Monday 20 February 2012

Harry Redknapp has confirmed that Tottenham are interest in bringing Lille winger Eden Hazard to the club in the summer, according to Metro.

Hazard, 21, told Belgian TV station RTBF last week that he had an interest in joining Spurs, and said that his signing was ‘going to happen soon.’ Whilst Redknapp did not comment directly on whether the club had made any progress in negotiating a deal with Lille, he did admit that he was keen to sign the Belgian international.

“Hazard was a player we’d spoken about a few weeks ago,” he admitted. “We were talking about the possibility of getting him - he’s definitely on our list.”

Hazard’s contract at Lille runs until 2015, but he has previously revealed his desire to leave the French club and challenge himself by playing abroad at the end of this season.
