FA divided over Redknapp England appointment

Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp is a divisive candidate to be the next England boss due to concerns over his experience, according to ESPNsoccernet.
The 64-year-old was immediately installed as the bookmakers’ favourite to take the job when Fabio Capello resigned earlier this month. But ESPNsoccernet quote a source as saying: “The word from within the FA is that there is a split and that there are two who have expressed their uncertainty about whether Harry Redknapp is the right man for the job.”
Redknapp has managed Tottenham since 2008, when he left a second spell at Portsmouth to replace Juande Ramos and take charge at White Hart Lane. At Portsmouth, Redknapp took the South Coast side into the Premier League in his first tenure before resigning in November 2004. After a brief time with Portsmouth’s rivals Southampton Redknapp returned to Fratton Park in December 2005, keeping the side in the Premier League that season, and won the FA Cup in 2008.
Tottenham reached the League Cup final within months of Redknapp’s appointment and 2010’s FA Cup semi-final, where they were defeated by Redknapp’s former club Portsmouth. In 2009-10 Tottenham also qualified for the Champions League under Redknapp, reaching the quarter-finals of the competition a year later.
