Redknapp uncertain if Adebayor will return to Tottenham

Saturday 07 April 2012

Harry Redknapp has admitted he does not yet know if on-loan striker Emmanuel Adebayor will become a Tottenham Hotspur player full-time at the end of the season, the Daily Mail has reported. Adebayor is currently on loan from Manchester City but Redknapp has conceded the players wages may get in the way of a permanent transfer.

The Mail add that Adebayor would like to stay at White Hart Lane for the foreseeable future but the £170,000 Manchester City are contracted to pay him would complicate a move. The newspaper adds that Redknapp would also like to see Adebayor move to Spurs on a permanent basis but will leave the negotiations in the hands of Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy.

Adebayor has scored 14 goals for Tottenham this season, often playing as a lone striker or occasionally in tandem with Jermain Defoe or lately Louis Saha, the January signing from Everton.
