Arsenal midfielder Arteta wary of Wolves threat

Wednesday 11 April 2012

Arsenal’s Spanish midfielder Mikel Arteta believes his side must be wary of the threat posed by the Premier League’s bottom team Wolverhampton Wanderers when the two teams meet at Molineux tonight, according to The Independent

The former Everton star has been a key player for Arsene Wenger’s side since he joined the Gunners last summer, contributing six goals in the Premier League. However, despite Arsenal’s splendid form over the last couple of months, which has seen them win eight games from their last nine, Arteta is refusing to underestimate a relegation-threatened Wolves side that has won just one game in 2012.

The Spaniard said: “I don't think it will be easy at Wolves. We have some good examples this year when we have dropped points against teams near the bottom. We have to go there with the right mentality and right approach and a sense of pride. When you're playing away from home, there are no easy games in the Premier League.”

The 30-year-old’s comments are backed up by the fact that Arsenal’s only defeat since February came at Loftus Road, where they were beaten 2-1 by another struggling side, Queens Park Rangers. The Gunners were also held to a 1-1 draw by Wolves at Emirates Stadium earlier this season.
