Tottenham linked with Lyon goalkeeper

Sunday 15 April 2012

Harry Redknapp is looking to bring French goalkeeper Hugo Lloris to White Hart Lane, according to the Metro.

Tottenham’s scouts have been searching Ligue 1 for potential summer transfer targets and have already identified Lille’s highly-rated attacking midfielder Eden Hazard and Marseille striker Loic Remy as players they would like to sign ahead of next season.

However, 25-year-old stopper Lloris is now also on the radar as Spurs look to find a long-term replacement for the ageing Brad Friedel. The Lyon star is thought to be rated as one of the top goalkeepers in Europe and he has plenty of experience both in the Champions League and on the international stage.

It is unknown whether Lyon would be looking to sell or indeed whether Lloris would be interested in moving to England. Spurs were looking to sign Tim Krul from Newcastle, but the Dutchman signed a new five-year deal with the Magpies earlier this year.
