Adebayor future at Tottenham in doubt after training ground row with Redknapp

Wednesday 25 April 2012

Emmanuel Adebayor’s future at Tottenham Hotspur has come into doubt after the striker, on loan from Manchester City, had a row at the club’s training ground with manager Harry Redknapp, the Daily Mail has reported.

The newspaper adds that Redknapp was searching for a reason to explain Tottenham’s recent slump in form that has seen them go from third place to fifth in a matter of weeks. The Mail continues that Adebayor felt singled out by Redknapp and an argument ensued, leaving the reputed £8m permanent move to White Hart Lane for the former Arsenal striker in question.

Adebayor has scored 14 goals this season for Tottenham, making 33 appearances since his temporary switch from the Etihad Stadium. Adebayor originally joined Manchester City from Arsenal in 2009 for a fee of around £25m, signed by Mark Hughes, now manager of Queens Park Rangers. The striker also spent the second half of last season on loan at Real Madrid after Hughes’ replacement, Roberto Mancini, preferred other options.
