Arsenal face competition for France midfielder M'Vila
Arsenal will have to battle it out with Serie A side Inter and Champions League finalists Bayern Munich to bring France midfielder Yann M’Vila to the Premier League, the Daily Mail has reported.
M’Vila has long been talked of as a transfer target for Arsene Wenger this summer but as the season draws to a close, the Rennes star is attracting attention from clubs other than the Gunners. The Mail add that Wenger was thought to be reluctant to spend the requested amount to sign the 21-year-old - said to be in the region of £20m - but with Inter and Bayern now showing an interest, Wenger may have to bite the bullet and meet Rennes’ asking price or face missing out on the player.
Capped 18 times by France, M’Vila, a defensive midfielder, was part of the France side that played and defeated England at Wembley in 2010. M’Vila featured for the full 90 minutes as goals from Karim Benzema and Mathieu Valbuena ensured victory, with Peter Crouch scoring a late consolation for the Three Lions.
