Wednesday 02 May 2012

Yann M’Vila, the midfielder who has been strongly linked with a move to Arsenal, has been arrested in France after allegations he punched a 17-year-old, ClubCall has reported. The article adds that M’Vila’s legal situation has cast doubt upon his move to the Gunners. M’Vila denies the accusation.

Arsene Wenger was said to be preparing an offer for the France international worth in the region of £17m but may now hold back until the case is clarified. The incident is alleged to have taken place in M’Vila’s home and ClubCall add that M’Vila spent Sunday night in a police cell before being released on Monday morning.

M’Vila is currently of Rennes, who find themselves fourth in the Ligue 1 table with four games to play. The 21-year-old M’Vila has made 37 league appearances for the club this season and played the full 90 minutes of Rennes’ 3-1 win over Ajaccio on Sunday.
