Redknapp calls for bold Tottenham transfers

Monday 07 May 2012

Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp wants to see the club make bold moves in the summer transfer market in an effort to bridge the gap between the White Hart Lane side and the teams at the top of the Premier League, the BBC has reported.

Spurs are in contention to finish in the division’s top four but at the turn of the year it appeared Redknapp would lead his side into a three-way title race with Manchester United and Manchester City. But a stuttering run of form saw Tottenham drop out of contention to win the Premier League and allowed Arsenal to take the initiative in the battle for third place.

With the end of the season in sight Redknapp has begun looking towards the summer and assessing in what area his team needs to strengthen, and the Tottenham boss has said it will take an ambitious transfer strategy to close in on the title-chasers.

Redknapp added: “We’re a good side. If we’re bold in the summer, we can build a team again that can be right there again next year.
