Adebayor set on Tottenham finishing in the top four

Wednesday 09 May 2012

Tottenham striker Emmanuel Adebayor has spoken of his determination to finish in the Premier League’s top four, insisting that Spurs deserve to be there, tottenhamhotspur.com reports.

Adebayor has scored 16 league goals for Spurs this season, who currently sit fourth in the table just a point clear of fifth placed Newcastle. Victory against Fulham at White Hart Lane will guarantee the Champions League spot and Adebayor is desperate to help his teammates to glory. It is unclear whether the Togolese international will sign a permanent deal at the club this summer following his loan from Manchester City, but Spurs players are keen for Adebayor to stay at the club for next season.

Spurs chairman Daniel Levy holds a tight budget at the club and Adebayor’s wages are partly being paid by City on this current loan spell. The 28 year old is reportedly unwilling to take a pay cut, so may leave the club after his loan spell, but not before he has fired Spurs into the Champions League.

“We have to do everything it takes to win the last game and we’ll see what happens from there. It will be an amazing game, the fans will be with us and hopefully we’ll get what we deserve and that’s to finish in the top four”, Adebayor said.
