Dalglish meets Liverpool owners in Boston

Tuesday 15 May 2012

Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish has flown to the United States to meet with the club’s owners, including John W. Henry, after the end of a Premier League campaign that left the Reds eighth in the table, the Liverpool Echo has reported.

The newspaper adds that Dalglish was required to write a report on the season as a whole to discuss with Henry and Tom Werner, chairman of Fenway Sports Group, which the Echo believes will increase speculation regarding the future of Dalglish as Liverpool manager.

Wigan Athletic manager Roberto Martinez was linked to the post over the weekend, the newspaper notes, but the Spaniard refused to be drawn on the gossip while Dalglish delivered a stern rebuke to the idea that his tenure may come to a close this summer.

Liverpool claimed a first trophy in six years this season, winning the Carling Cup by virtue of a penalty shoot-out victory over Championship side Cardiff City and also reached the FA Cup final, which they lost to Chelsea.
