Chelsea move would appeal to Manchester City midfielder Toure

Wednesday 16 May 2012

The agent of Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure has said his client would be interested in a move to Chelsea, Bayern Munich or Barcelona, just days after clinching the Premier League title, the Daily Mail has reported.

Toure is described by the Mail as a “cornerstone” of City’s title win but his representative, Dimitri Seluk, has told Spanish radio that Toure may be in search of a fresh start away from the Etihad Stadium. He said: “Toure has done all he can do at City and needs new motivations. He would like a new challenge. He would not cost much. He could sign for many big clubs, like Chelsea or Bayern Munich. We would like to see Barcelona join the race.

The Ivory Coast international joined City from Barcelona in 2010 and has made 92 appearances for the club, scoring 21 goals, including the only goal in the 2010 FA Cup final against Stoke City and two vital goals against Newcastle United late this season as City edged to a first league title since 1968, sneaking past former champions and near neighbours Manchester United on goal difference. Toure spent three years at Barcelona, moving to Spain from French club Monaco, having previously played in Greece, Ukraine and Belgium.
