Adebayor wants to stay at Tottenham

Thursday 17 May 2012

Emmanuel Adebayor wants to make his loan at Tottenham Hotspur a permanent arrangement but admits the decision may be up to his employers at Manchester City, the Daily Mail has reported.

Adebayor joined Spurs on loan in August and scored 18 goals for the White Hart Lane side, helping Tottenham to a fourth-place finish and possibly the Champions League - that still rests on the outcome of the Champions League final as, if Chelsea win, they will enter the tournament next year despite finishing sixth in the league this season.

The Togolese striker has re-iterated his happiness at being a Spurs player and confirmed that he would be happy to move to the club on a full-time basis but accepts that the decision is out of his hands.

Adebayor joined City in 2009 in a transfer from Spurs’ local rivals Arsenal, but has spent much of his time while contracted to the newly-crowned Premier League champions away from the club, first on loan at Real Madrid and now Tottenham.
