Chelsea winger Kalou refuses to rule out Arsenal move
Chelsea winger Salomon Kalou could leave Stamford Bridge this summer when his contract with the club expires, and the Ivory Coast international has refused to dismiss the idea of moving to near-neighbours Arsenal, the Metro has reported.
The newspaper adds that Gunners manager Arsene Wenger is a long-standing admirer of the 26-year-old and would be particularly tempted by the free transfer nature of the deal. But Kalou is also reportedly attracting interest from elsewhere in the Premier League and across Europe.
Asked about his future ahead of Chelsea’s Champions League final meeting with Bayern Munich on Saturday, Kalou refused to be drawn on matters contractual. He said: “I’m one step away from winning the Champions League. After that I can decide. I just want to win the Champions League.”
Kalou moved to Chelsea in 2006 from Netherlands club Feyenoord. In his time in West London thus far Kalou has made more than 250 appearances, scoring 60 goals. Kalou however has often been a substitute for the club, making 107 of his 253 appearances from the bench.
