Arsenal will allow as many as 10 senior players to leave the club this summer in an effort to make room for new faces, with Nicklas Bendtner, Carlos Vela and Marouane Chamakh amongst the names made available, the Daily Telegraph has reported.

The Gunners have already confirmed the contract of goalkeeper Manuel Almunia will not be renewed this summer, allowing the Spaniard to leave the club for free, while the likes of Sebastien Squillaci, Park Chu-Young and Denilson will also be moved on. The Telegraph adds that Arsenal are open to the idea of Andrei Arshavin making his loan spell at Zenit St. Petersburg permanent, while Bendtner and Vela have been linked with moves to Borussia Dortmund and Espanyol respectively.

Arsene Wenger will stage the clear out to create space on the wage bill for a host of new signings, of which Germany striker Lukas Podolski is just the first. Yann M’Vila, the Rennes midfielder, or Javi Martinez, Athletic Bilbao’s Spain international will be targeted to bolster the midfield but further additions may depend on the future of Robin van Persie.
