New Liverpool home kit goes on sale

By A Different League staff

Friday 01 June 2012

Liverpool have released their new kit ahead of the 2012/13 Premier League season.

The new kits are manufactured by Warrior, and still carry last season’s shirt sponsor, Standard Chartered – the most notable change this season is that all logos and sponsors on the front of the shirt are coloured in gold.

The kit has been available on pre-order recently, and Lee Dwerryhouse, Head of Retail at Liverpool FC, has revealed that sales are up 100% on other recent releases of the Reds home shirt.

"We've had orders from 115 countries and we've already had to place a new order for kits. The feedback from fans has been incredible. The fans like the modern twist on the traditional strip.

"This is the start of what will be a close and successful working relationship between Liverpool Football Club and Warrior."

The shirt was put on sale at an event at the Liverpool One store, in the city centre of Liverpool, with people queueing to get their hands on the kit that Brandan Rodgers’ side will be wearing this season.

Rodgers is set to be unveiled as manager of the club on Friday at a press conference. Reds owners had previoulsy spoken to Wigan boss Roberto Martinez, but Rodgers is now the frontrunner to take over at Anfield.
