Hulk wants Chelsea move

By Andrew Tuft

Friday 08 June 2012

Brazil striker Hulk has reportedly told his current club Porto that he wishes to leave and join Chelsea, according to the Daily Mail.

The clubs have negotiated over a transfer for the forward but in an effort to push through the move Hulk has confirmed his desire to swap the Estadio do Dragao for Stamford Bridge. But the Mail adds that a fee has not yet been agreed, with Chelsea unwilling to meet Porto’s demands and Porto unwilling to lower them further.

Hulk’s contract contains a release clause of £80m but Porto are willing to accept far less, around £38m, with Chelsea so far baulking at matching the asking price. But the newspaper believes the deal will eventually go ahead.

The Mail continues that Hulk is expected to form part of a new-look attacking foursome at Chelsea, with Eden Hazard, Juan Mata and Fernando Torres the theoretical unit. Germany midfielder Marko Marin will also join the club this summer, principally as competition for the others.
