Ramires hints at Chelsea exit

Sunday 10 June 2012

Chelsea’s influential midfielder Ramires has sent shockwaves through Stamford bridge after signalling his desire to return to Cruzeiro, where he previously spent two seasons, according to The Daily Mail .

It will come as major upset to Chelsea’s plans for next season following their FA Cup win and capture of the Champions League. With Ramires playing a big part in their impressive end to the season it seems that rather than commit to the club, he is seeking a move to back to Brazil.

The 25-year-old has impressed since his £17.5m switch from Benfica in 2010, though according to the Daily Mail the player is seeking a move to his former club Cruzerio and fans that dubbed him “Ramires the Warrior”.

“If Cruzeiro are interested, it’s possible for me to go back, although it’s not a decision I can make and difficult because my price is very high. If Cruzeiro could raise the money, I would go back for sure” Ramires said.

Cruzeiro however would not be able to afford any such deal if Chelsea were willing to sell, though player power could rear its head as Ramires seems very keen to force a move away from Stamford Bridge saying: “I was happy at Cruzeiro and felt an obligation to return at some point as the club offered me a chance to launch my sport career in Europe”.

Any deal would have to be put on hold whilst the vacant manager’s position at Chelsea is resolved, though with Didier Drogba, Salomon Kalou and Jose Bosingwa already departing the club, Ramires will be one the hierarchy are keen to hold onto.

It will be wise of Chelsea to give RDM the coaching job, after all he did.
