Real Madrid make move for City’s Silva

Monday 18 June 2012

Real Madrid could try to tempt Manchester City’s Spain international midfielder David Silva into a return to his homeland, as the Metro reports Jose Mourinho is considering a £30m offer for the player.

Silva’s agent, Julio Llorente, has previously admitted Madrid’s interest in his client but insisted Silva was happy to stay at the Etihad Stadium, but according to the newspaper that has not fully deterred the champions of Spain.

Madrid were interested in Silva when he originally left Valencia to move to City in a £24m 2010 transfer, but City stole a march on the Spanish side and wrapped up the deal before Madrid could act on their admiration.

Silva is currently away with the Spanish national team at Euro 2012, preparing for the final group game of the competition against Croatia. A draw could be enough to see the holders through but to be certain Spain will have to defeat Slaven Bilic’s side.
