QPR set for triple Man City swoop

Monday 18 June 2012

Queens Park Rangers manager Mark Hughes could be set for a reunion with three players he signed for Manchester City, as ClubCall reports the Welshman is interested in bringing Wayne Bridge, Roque Santa Cruz and Kolo Toure to Loftus Road.

Hughes paid a combined £37m to sign the trio for City, with Bridge arriving from Chelsea, Santa Cruz from Blackburn Rovers and Toure from Arsenal. But with the newly-crowned Premier League champions keen to trim down both their squad and their wage bill, each could be available for a knock-down price this summer. ClubCall puts the total fee for the group this summer at closer to £8m.

Santa Cruz is said to be available for around £2m after spending the whole of last season on loan in Spain with Real Betis, while Bridge will be sold for half that amount after ending the season as a Sunderland player following a previous temporary move with West Ham United. Toure has lost his place in the side to Vincent Kompany and Joleon Lescott, with a £5m price tag on the head of the 31-year-old.
