Rodgers wants three new Liverpool signings

Wednesday 20 June 2012

New Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers wants to bring in three new faces to Anfield in an attempt to impose his passing style on the club, the Daily Mirror has reported.

Gylfi Sigurdsson, who played under Rodgers at Reading and last season on loan at Swansea City, has been heavily linked with a third spell under Rodgers, but the ex-Swansea boss is said to want to add two more signatures to that of the Iceland midfielder. Rodgers is also prepared to give Joe Cole, who spent last season on loan in France with Lille, a second chance on Merseyside.

Rodgers revealed he met with Cole while in Spain recently and Cole confirmed he would like to resurrect his Liverpool career. Rodgers also praised Cole for his success while with Lille and stressed that every player at the club had the opportunity to make a fresh start while he assessed whether or not they fit in with the style Rodgers wishes to employ.
