Hulk move to Chelsea in doubt

Friday 22 June 2012

PSG are hoping to derail Chelsea’s bid for Porto star Hulk, with a £43 million offer.

The Daily Mail reports that the French runners-up are keen on signing a ‘big’ striker and are keen on bringing the Brazilian attackers to Paris, after failing in bids for Carlos Tevez, Gonzalo Higuain, Alexandre Pato and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Chelsea are said to have been in talks with Porto for some time and their offer appeared to be in the region of £30 million. But after a number of good performances on the international stage it is thought the Portuguese champions are planning on cashing in with a higher price tag for the 26-year-old.

These reports come just days after the Daily Mail claimed that Hulk was trying to force the move to Stamford Bridge, when he said:

“Chelsea are the current European champions and would please any player and I’m not exception. I’d be happy if the transfer happened.”

Hulk has been top scorer for Porto in the last two seasons and has notched up an impressive 73 goals in 96 appearances. He has played 13 times for his country, finding the net 3 times.
