Modric agrees Real Madrid deal

Friday 22 June 2012

Luka Modric has got his move away from White Hart Lane according to suggestions from the Spanish press.

ITV have reported that Real Madrid will sign the Croatian for a fee of £30 million, rising to £35 million.

Speculation about the midfielder’s future had been rife and this story seems to suggest all the talk is over and the player will be wearing white again next season, this time in Spain.

Modric has just finished international duty with Croatia at Euro 2012, after they were knocked out in the final round of games in their group. But despite his country not qualifying the playmaker has been praised for his performances once again.

Arriving at Tottenham in 2008, Modric has gone on to play 130 games for the club, getting 13 goals in the process. But it is not his goals that make him such a sought after player but his ability to control a game with incisive passes. He came close to signing for rivals Chelsea last summer but that deal failed to materialize.
