Kagawa completes Man Utd move

Saturday 23 June 2012

Manchester United have completed their second signing of the summer, Shinji Kagawa.

The Telegraph have reported that the deal was finalised last night after the Japanese star completed his medical and the formalities were ironed out.

Kagawa signs from Borussia Dortmund on a four-year-deal and appears to excite the Old Trafford boss, Sir Alex Ferguson. He said:

“Shinji is an exciting young midfielder with great skill, vision and a good eye for goal. I am delight he has chosen to come to United. I believe he will make an impact upon the team very quickly as he is suited to United’s style of play,” finishing: “We are all looking forward to working with him.”

The 23-year-old arrives after a number of impressive seasons playing for Borussia Dortmund. Signing for the German side in 2010 for just £350,000 he went on to score 21 times in 49 league appearances, helping Dortmund lift the Bundesliga in successive back-to-back campaigns.

He debuted for Japan at just 19 and has gone on to make 33 appearances for his country, contributing 11 goals in that time.

Kagawa is United’s second signing of the summer after Crewe Alexander midfielder Chris Powell signed for the Premier League runners-up last week. Both players are considered attacking minded midfielders.
