Villas-Boas denies Tottenham link
Andre Villas-Boas has rejected claims that he is set to take the hot seat at White Hart Lane.
Sky Sports are reporting that the Portuguese manager has refuted suggestions that he has any interest in the job amid speculation that he is the favourite to become manager at Tottenham.
Villas-Boas struggled in his only season in Premier League management, being sacked by Chelsea in March after months of controversy, tabloid headlines and poor results. He does have a good record elsewhere, winning the Europa League with Porto as well as the Portuguese league and domestic cup.
This latest twist in Daniel Levy’s search for a new manager can only come as bad news. Reports suggested that the Tottenham chairman wanted Villas-Boas to come in and secure regular Champions League football but the 34-year-old has been quoted in the Portuguese press when asked about the job as saying: “There is nothing, it is all lies.”
David Moyes and Lauren Blanc have also been linked to the job but so far there has been no official approach for any manager.
