Arsenal informed of Lloris price

Wednesday 04 July 2012

Arsenal have been told that if they want to sign Lyon’s France international goalkeeper Hugo Lloris, it will cost them around £16m, the Daily Mail has reported.

Lyon’s president, Jean-Michel Aulas, confirmed on the club’s official website that Lloris would like to leave the Ligue 1 side but only for one of the biggest clubs in Europe. Aulas added that Lloris would not be sold for less than €20m, which works out at around £16m. However, Aulas also stressed that if the deal is not done by July 15 then Lloris would remain with his current club, and revealed that there had not yet been an offer from Arsenal or any other interested party.

Lloris captained France during Euro 2012, conceding five goals in four games as Les Bleus were eliminated at the quarter-final stage by defending champions and eventual winners Spain, going down to a Xabi Alonso brace. France Coach Laurent Blanc has since left his position after his contract expired at the end of the tournament.
