Tottenham make offer for exit bound Lloris
Tottenham are ready to make a move for France international Hugo Lloris after Lyon made him available this week.
According to The Sun, Spurs have offered £13 million for the goalkeeper despite there being a £16 million price tag set by the Ligue 1 side. North London rivals Arsenal have also been reported as showing interest in the French no.1 but it is thought they too have shied away from the asking price.
Lloris has been at Lyon for four years – playing 144 games in that time – after signing from Nice in 2008. During this time he has won the Ligue 1 Goalkeeper of the Year three times. In his first season at Lyon he was awarded his first cap at international level and has gone on to play 37 times for his country, including most recently at Euro 2012.
Tottenham were also thought to be in the hunt for Birmingham and England goalkeeper Jack Butland as they look for a new number 1 to replace Brad Friedel and Heurelho Gomes, but that has yet to materialise.
