By Andrew Tuft

Wednesday 11 July 2012

Brazil striker Hulk will use the forthcoming London Olympics as a showcase in which to push through a move to Chelsea or, failing that, another Premier League club, the London Evening Standard has reported.

Hulk has been named in the 18-man squad of manager Mano Menezes, and it is Menezes who has claimed the player is keep to impress during his summer in England. Menezes said: “Hulk has a will, he has his personal goals. He is considering his transfer, which is behind this.” The 25-year-old Hulk has been named as one of Meneze’s three overage players, alongside Real Madrid full-back Marcelo, 24, and Milan centre-back Thiago Silva, 27, and the captain of the side.

Currently with Porto, Hulk has been touted as a Chelsea target throughout the summer but the move has not yet materialised. During his time in Portugal Hulk, who moved to Porto from Tokyo Verdy in 2008, has scored 76 goals in 166 games. Hulk has won the Portuguese league on three occasions and the Europa League once in that time.
