Kompany set for new City deal
Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany is set to sign a new bumper deal with the Premier League champions, according to The Sun.
The Belgian defender was a key figure in helping secure City’s maiden Premier League title, scoring the pivotal goal in the 1-0 win over rivals Manchester United in April.
He is now set to be rewarded with a new five year deal, worth £130,000-a-week and will sign the new contact upon his and City’s return from their pre-season tour of the Far East.
Kompany remains one of the Citizen’s best pieces of business since the takeover of the Abu Dhabi United Group, who paid just £6m for a player now renowned as one of the best defenders in the league.
Indeed his has been voted the Players’ Player of the Season and Fans’ Player of the Season for his talismanic displays last term.
