Dortmund put £35m price tag on Chelsea target Lewandowski

Monday 23 July 2012

Robert Lewandowski has had a hefty £35m price tag slapped on him by current club Borussia Dortmund after the side rejected a bid of less than half that from Chelsea last week.

According to the Daily Mail, the Bundesliga side has told the European champions to cough up if they want the Polish striker after they failed with an offer in the region of £13m

Lewandowski is one of the most wanted centre-forwards in Europe at the moment, but Chelsea are believed to be the first to make their offer formal as they look for a cheaper alternative to Napoli’s Edinson Cavani and Atletico Madrid’s Radamel Falcao.

Since signing for Dortmund in 2010, the 23-year-old front man has gone on to score a total of 39 goals in 89 games and currently has 45 caps for Poland in which he has found the net 15 times.

It is thought that Arsenal, Tottenham and Manchester United are also in the hunt for Lewandowski however the transfer fee may move their interest elsewhere.
