Southampton are preparing themselves for another transfer saga with Arsenal amid reports that the Gunners’ are set to renew their interest in Luke Shaw.

According to the Daily Mail, the 17-year-old – who has attracted plenty of interest this summer – is high up on the list of transfer targets for Arsene Wenger and a bid could be imminent.

London based rivals Chelsea have already had a £4 million bid rejected by the Saints but now the Emirates outfit are ready to do battle to get the signature of the highly rated full back.

Arsenal have a history of buying Southampton’s talented youngsters having signed England internationals Theo Walcott and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain from the south coast side in the last six years after they both had promising starts to their careers at St Mary’s.

However, this time the red half of North London could find their efforts are in vain. Having been promoted to the Premier League last season, Southampton are keen on keeping hold of their hot prospects as they look to build a squad that can compete in the English top flight for years to come – it is currently unknown how much Arsenal are willing to bid.
