Chelsea to make final Moses offer

Bookmark and Share

By Andrew Tuft

Tuesday 31 July 2012

Chelsea will make a fourth and final offer for Wigan Athletic forward Victor Moses, the Daily Mail has reported, with the Champions League winners ready to pay £7.5m for the Nigeria international.

However, that sum is still short of the £10m Latics chairman Dave Whelan had been holding out for, despite Moses admitting he wants to leave the DW Stadium this summer. Wigan have already turned down three offers from Chelsea for the 21-year-old. Moses’ contract expires in 12 months’ time but as he is under 24 Wigan would still receive a fee should he choose to depart then.

Moses moved to Wigan from Crystal Palace in the 2010 winter transfer window. He had scored 11 goals in 69 appearances for the Eagles, making his debut in a 1-1 draw between Palace and Cardiff City in November 2007.

Since heading to Wigan Moses has netted nine goals in 79 games, including two in Wigan’s 4-0 win over Newcastle United late last season.
