Adam camp fights back after criticism over Bale challenge

Tuesday 31 July 2012

Kenny Moyes, the agent of Charlie Adam, has jumped to his client’s defence after accusations from Gareth Bale regarding a challenge made in a preseason game at the weekend. The Independent have reported that Moyes strongly disagrees with Bale’s remarks suggesting that Adam is a “coward,” instead claiming that those who have commented on the tackle at Tottenham have acted in a childish manner.

Moyes said: “It doesn’t warrant a reply because everyone knows Charlie is not that type of player. Everyone in football knows he has no malice or anything like that in him. For someone to have a go like that is outrageous. It was schoolboyish for them to come and say that.

The challenge in Baltimore was the second such incident between the two players. Adam caused a stir when making a similar challenge on Bale during his Blackpool days in a Premier League fixture.

Bale has already returned to training and is expected to be fit for Spurs’ next game. A scan revealed that there was not as much damage done as first feared by Head Coach Andre Villas-Boas - who himself called for the Liverpool midfielder to apologise. The next time the two meet is in November at White Hart Lane.

Moyes must be blind if he couldnt see that the tackle was late. Its not the first time Adam has done this, mainly because he is too slow for the Premiership

Not that type of player? What has this guy been smoking? He has been nothing more than a thug in every match against Spurs. Apart from the Bale tackles, he kicked Parker in the chest and twice went threw the back of, I think BAE or was it Modric? The guy makes me sick as he will one day cost someone their career. I hope that Liverpool get shot of him as I would hate to see him play against us again. As I fear for our players safety around this thug.

Of course Adams agent will jump to his clients defence just as he would quickly jump to critise anyone who puts his client out of the game for any length of time. It would have been strange if he didnt but the silence from Adams manager on this matter is ominous. Brendan Rogers to my knowledge hasnt said a thing publically and that can be interpreted in variouys ways. Either he encourages it or is sickened by it. Perhaps we will hear from him soon. Adams will get his comeuppance one day and we wait to hear what Moyes has to say on the subject.

How to defend Adam - He is a dirty, malicious player too slow for the premier league and not fit to wear the Liverpool shirt. He excuses reckless challenges where he is quite clearly going for the man as there being no malice - Yes and i'm sure drunk drivers don't set out to kill or maim others but there you go ...

'everyone knows he's not that kind of player'???? Then what type of player is he? It's his only *ahem* strength. That he's done it time & time again suggest that he is very much that type of player. It's not uncommon that players playing at a level that's out of their depth resort to nasty challenges to mask their lack of ability, Wimbledon did it for years.

Addams put Bale out for three months once and nearly did it again in a friendly. Why avoid apologising unless he is, as as many suspect . a total thug. This is typical of the way Spurs players are dealt with via the media, Bale gets trampled for the second times and his anger about this is questioned as if he did something wrong.
