William Gallas is amongst the names to be allowed to leave Tottenham Hotspur by Head Coach Andre Villas-Boas, as the newly-installed boss tries to make room in his squad for striker Leandro Damiao, the Daily Mail has reported.

Gallas is to be joined on the way out of White Hart Lane by former England midfielder Jermaine Jenas, ex-Arsenal winger David Bentley and defensive pair Kyle Naughton and Sebastien Bassong. All will be told they can leave the club before the close of the transfer window.

Meanwhile, a number of the club’s young players will be put up for loan and the likes of Brazil midfielder Sandro, Mexico’s Giovani dos Santos and Steven Caulker, who spent last season on loan with Swansea City, will be given more time to impress Villas-Boas after their involvement in the Olympics.

Villas-Boas was keen to give every member of the Spurs squad a chance to show what they can do in pre-season but as the new Premier League campaign draws near, he has settled on Internacional striker Leandro Damiao as his most wanted new addition.
