Every morning A Different League searches the nations press to bring you the latest goings on at Arsenal. Today:

Fabregas injury latest.
Arsenal skipper Cesc Fabregas has confirmed that the October 3 trip to Chelsea is the match he is targeting as his return following his hamstring injury. The World Cup winner sustained the injury while scoring a freak goal at Sunderland on Saturday, and initial fears were that he would be absent for three weeks. According to Sky Sports, Fabregas told Spanish radio station COPE: “The injury is not as bad as we first thought. There is no muscle rupture and I will be back perfect in about 10 to 11 days. I am working with an osteopath in Paris and just working day to day. I think I will make the Chelsea game.”
Gunners want Carling Cup.
Arsenal are out to win the Carling Cup this year, according to Czech attacking midfielder Tomas Rosicky. Chief Arsene Wenger has never hidden the fact that England’s secondary cup competition remained low on his priorities, but that standpoint appears to have changed following a surprisingly strong team selection for their 4-1 victory over bitter north London rivals Spurs on Tuesday night. According to a report on ESPN, Rosicky said: “It is important to end the trophy drought because it's gone on too long. You can see the boss is going for it. That gives us a better chance of winning it, we have a good enough squad to compete on all levels. I came in 2006 and have won nothing yet. I came here to win trophies, so let's go for it in style.”
Vela gets 6 month ban.
Carlos Vela has been banned from representing his country for six months by the Mexican FA for post-match partying. The 21-year-old, who joined Arsenal in 2005 but couldn’t obtain a work permit to play for the Gunners until 2008, received the punishment alongside Efrain Juarez of Celtic, and 11 other players were fined for a party held at their hotel which lasted until dawn. According to The Telegraph, Nestor De La Torre, director of national team selections for Mexico said Vela and Juarez violated four rules from the code of conduct, including an obligation to "conduct themselves with respect and seriousness, taking into consideration what it means to represent Mexico.” The money collected from the player fines may go to charity or to flood victims in Veracruz, which was hit by Hurricane Karl.
6 year old prodigy at the Emirates.
Arsenal are predicting that a boy of six who is currently in their ranks could be a huge star - after making recovering from a rare bone disease which almost lost him a leg. Fletcher Toll suffered osteomyelitis when he was just 17 months old, and the disease paralysed his right leg, as well as leaving a 5p piece sized hole in his hip. Doctors had feared they may need to amputate, but he made a remarkable recovery following hospital treatment. Speaking to The Sun, former pro Mark Angel said: “I see him having an excellent future in the professional game. His dribbling skills are excellent. His free kicks remind me of a young Beckham.” Fletcher’s mum Lisa, 34, and dad Rikki, 28, are understandably proud – with Rikki saying “Arsenal coaches told me he's the best player they've ever seen at his age." Best of luck to Fletcher at the Emirates!
