Nani and Fletcher injured.

Manchester United’s impressive 3-0 victory over Bursaspor came at a cost – injuries to midfield pair Nani and Darren Fletcher.

The duo were both substituted during the game, and now look likely to miss Saturday’s visit of Wolves to Old Trafford.

However, the respective injuries are not deemed too serious and it is hoped that both will have recovered in time for the Manchester derby at Eastland’s in midweek.

Sir Alex Ferguson confirmed, “Nani has a groin injury and is out for Saturday, I think Darren will be out as well, so that part has been disappointing.”

Praise for Obertan.

Sir Alex was also keen to praise young wingers Gabriel Obertan and Bebe, who both got on the score sheet against the Turkish champions.

Obertan’s classy strike which made the score 2-0, was his first goal for the club, whilst Bebe rounded things off with his second goal in as many matches.

“Gabriel has been derailed quite by injury. He had two or three last season and then picked up another in pre-season but he is back now and he has fantastic talent." said Ferguson, adding of Bebe, “He still needs a lot of coaching but the raw talent is there. The chances of him being able to realise his potential are very good."

Utd in for Suazo.

According to Italian sports website Itasports, United are on the prowl for Chilean World Cup striker Humberto Suazo.

The website claims discussions are already underway between the Reds and the player’s agent with negotiations thought to have been done over the telephone although a face-to-face meeting is next on the agenda as they look to secure a deal for January.

Suazo, 29, plays his club football with Mexican side Monterrey and the transfer fee to prize him to Old Trafford would be in the region of £10m.
