Reports in the media this morning suggest that Harry Redknapp could be prepared to sell Aaron Lennon in order to bring in Aston Villa winger Ashley Young, who has told the Birmingham outfit he has no intention of signing a new contract at Villa Park until next summer. This would leave only 12 months left on his contract in the midlands – and Harry Redknapp could pounce in an effort to prise the 25-year-old to White Hart Lane.
According to Peace FM Online, Spurs would face competition from Liverpool for the capture of Young, who has been included in Fabio Capello’s 23-man squad for England’s friendly with France on Wednesday.

Speaking of Liverpool, right-back Glenn Johnson is reportedly unhappy with life at Anfield, and Spurs are monitoring the situation.
Redknapp is known to be a long-time admirer of Glenn Johnson, and signed the player during his second spell in charge of Portsmouth. While both have since moved on, a reunion at White Hart Lane is something the 63-year-old would definitely be interested in.
Sport.co.uk is reporting that Inter Milan are also keen. Their manager Rafa Benitez signed Johnson during his time in charge at Liverpool, and could look to bring the former Chelsea defender in as a replacement for apparently Madrid-bound Maicon. Kop boss Roy Hodgson has been involved in a recent rift with Johnson, after the player took umbrage to comments made about his recent form.
Crouch relishing Arsenal game.
Under-fire Spurs striker Peter Crouch has admitted he is relishing the prospect of firing Spurs to victory against north London rivals Arsenal at the Emirates on Saturday. The striker, who scored his first Premier League goal of the season in the weekend’s 4-2 win over Blackburn, feels the gap in quality between the two sides has narrowed significantly since Spurs were humbled 4-1 by their enemies in the Carling Cup earlier in the season.
According to Sky Sports, Crouch said: “We are looking forward to the game at Arsenal. We are not there yet, but we are certainly a lot closer to them than we have been for a long time. We changed our side around in the Carling Cup when Arsenal won 4-1 but they were fantastic. We know that they are a great side but I believe that on our day we can beat anyone.”
