Arsenal news - Gunners eye Canales, Bayern RvP bid, Gameiro nogo

By James McLean

Friday 24 December 2010

Bayern RvP bid.

Robin van Persie is the subject of a shock £30m bid from Bayern Munich, according to Give Me Football.

Reports in Germany believe that underachieving Munich are looking to bolster their attacking options, and Louis van Gaal sees compatriot van Persie as a viable option.

One potential stumbling block is that the Dutchman would be cup tied for the Champions League, but it is believed van Gaal’s priority is to improve the club’s league standing.

Despite being one of the Gunners’ most experienced players, van Persie is injury prone and has featured only eight times this season – and so a £30m bid may be enough to tempt Arsene Wenger into taking a risk and doing business.

Gunners eye Canales.

Arsenal have been linked with a move for Spanish prodigy Sergio Canales, according to Give Me Football.

The Real Madrid teenager, who only moved to the Bernabeu in the summer, but after falling out of favour under Jose Mourinho he looks set to be on the move, and the Emirates has been suggested as a possible destination.

The youngster could set the Gunners back around €10m. His father has stated that the Spain U-21 international will stay and fight for his place, but with Arsene Wenger’s impressive reputation for getting the best out of young talent a move to the Emirates could be seen as a positive one.

Gameiro nogo.

Arsenal and Spurs have missed out on the signing of Lorient’s Kevin Gameiro after the player revealed he will be joining Valencia, according to Goal.com.

Gameiro was a January target for both Arsene Wenger and Harry Redknapp, and the £6m-rated striker wants to leave his current club due to a falling out with coach Christian Gourcuff.

Summer signing Laurent Koscielny is a former team-mate of Gameiro, but it is thought La Liga is a preferred destination according to talkSPORT.

i think it will be very wise for arsene wenger to sale van persie for 30m pounds and get a young energetic and injury free striker like luis suarez or nene from psg in france.

sell and buy suarez SIMPLE !!!!!!!!!!

i think he should sell considering the number of strikers in the team. benthner, charmack, and enven walcott.
