PSG block Sunderland move for Sessegnon

Monday 10 January 2011

The expected loan deal for Stephane Sessegnon to Sunderland has hit a snag as his club PSG are considering refusing to sanction the move, reports Sky Sports.

The Benin international, who has had a public fall out with Coach Antoine Kombouare, had made his desire to leave public in recent weeks and was believed to have travelled to the North East over the weekend.

French publication RMC, however, have since published an interview with senior PSG official Eric Pecout, who has stated that Parisian club haven’t changed their stance on Sessegnon and are reluctant to let him leave. He stated that: “He still has his ideas, but the club has not changed its position, because PSG does not want to let him go.

We'll see in February if he wants to return to the squad, we would be very happy with this."

It is considered that is down to Sessegnon whether he forces a move or whether he’ll relent on his transfer demands and return to Paris.
