Arsenal have attempted to beat Chelsea to the signing of Queens Park Rangers striker Loic Remy by meeting his £10.5m release clause, according to the Daily Telegraph.
On Saturday, it had looked as though Chelsea had wrapped up the signing of Remy by agreeing a deal with QPR. The move to Stamford Bridge is still close to being confirmed although a medical is still to be completed, but Arsenal have provided Remy with another option.
