In Saturday’s early kick-off, Liverpool travel to the Britannia Stadium to take on a Stoke City side that continue to pull away from the drop zone thanks mostly to their home form this season. Tony Pulis’ side have established a decent balance with the signings of Tuncay Sanli and Matthew Etherington, adding trickery and flair to the attack along with the constant aerial threat of James Beattie and co from set pieces. Liverpool currently sit seventh in the league table and are now five points adrift of Manchester City in fourth place – three points is a must this Saturday. They must successfully snuff out Stoke’s constant threat from set pieces and having struggled to get to grips with zonal marking this season, Rafa’s men must get it spot on at the Britannia if they are to conquer the Midlanders.
Saturday sees both Chelsea and Manchester United in action at their respected home grounds as they look to maintain their title challenge. While both should comfortably claim all three points, Chelsea look likely to face a tougher task as they take on Sunderland. Steve Bruce’s side are five points adrift of the bottom three, but a poor run of results could see them fighting for survival over the coming months, while having only won one game away from home all season, they look to have it all to do at Stamford Bridge.
