Man Utd sign Mexico striker Hernandez

According to reports, Manchester United have agreed a deal to sign Mexico’s 21 year-old striker Javier Hernandez for an undisclosed fee.

The striker signs from Mexican club Chivas de Guadalajara, has scored four goals in as many appearances for his national side, and 11 in 17 for Chivas last season. He will provide depth for the Man Utd attack, and may signal the exit of Michael Owen or Dimitar Berbatov.

United manager Sir Alex Ferguson was delighted with the signing: “He has been in prolific form for both his club and his country. He will be a great addition to our squad and we look forward to welcoming our first Mexican player in the summer.”

The move should be completed on 1st July, assuming a work permit is granted.
