Merida snubs Gunners stay.
Arsenal youngster Fran Merida is set to reject a 5-year contract to remain at the club, preferring a move to Spain with Europa League winners Athletico Madrid, according to a report in The Metro. His agent said how “Fran’s decision is based purely on sporting questions and not money.”
Emmanuel-Thomas wants first team breakthrough.
Another Arsenal youngster, Jay Emmanuel-Thomas, is hoping to push his way into the Arsenal first team this season, after impressing in his loan spell at Doncaster Rovers. He told the Arsenal official website “This has been a good season for me. Hopefully I can continue that next season. I’ll have a little break and then return for pre-season where I can make a big impression. Pre-season makes a big difference.”
Let Fabregas go says Graham.
Former Arsenal boss George Graham has told Arsenal to let wantaway midfielder Cesc Fabregas return to Barcelona. Talking to the Mirror, Graham said: “It won’t be the end of Arsenal, not by any means. There is no one player who has ever run or will run Arsenal Football Club. If Barcelona come up with the fee that Arsenal want, then there is no point keeping a player who doesn’t want to be there.”
