Cole to follow Mourinho to Madrid

Jose Mourinho has confirmed he wants to sign Ashley Cole from Chelsea, according to The Sun. The claim comes a day after the paper said Chelsea will struggle to hold on to the ‘tormented’ England star. As a move to the Bernabeu appears imminent for the Special One, he told The Sun: “I prefer to play with attacking full-backs in the style of Ashley Cole and Maicon.” With the Portuguese Tactician convinced the Stamford bridge left-back is determined to leave London, watch this space for one of the moves of the summer.

Kaka looking for reunion with Ancelotti

The Daily Mirror has linked Brazilian ace Kaka with a reunion with his former AC Milan boss Carlo Ancelotti at Chelsea. The paper claims Kaka is fearing he will be unable to force his way into the first team under future boss Jose Mourinho, and has marked the London club as his number one choice if forced out of the Bernabeu. Kaka enjoyed his best spell as a player at AC Milan under the Italian Coach and could cost the Stamford Bridge side a tidy sum.

Essien out of World Cup

Michael Essien will miss the World Cup through injury. The Ghana captain will not be fit until the end of July, therefore ruling the Chelsea midfielder out of the tournament in South Africa. Essien, who has not played for the Blues since December was selected in the 29-preliminary squad in the hope of recovering in time, but the Ghana Football Association has confirmed his absence: “An evaluation by a combined team of medical experts from the Ghana Football Association and Chelsea Football Club revealed that Essien will not make full recovery until the end of July,”
