Chelsea news – Kaka to Chelsea in Lampard swap deal, Chelsea favourites for Yaya Toure, Joe Cole to choose Arsenal

Every morning A Different League searches the nations press to bring you the latest goings on at Chelsea. Today:

Kaka to Chelsea in Lampard swap deal.

Jose Mourinho has told Chelsea they can have Brazilian midfielder Kaka, if they give Madrid Frank Lampard, reports the News of the World. The paper claims Mourinho will use the unsettled midfielder as bait to lure Lampard after being told he will not have access to the same funds available at the Bernabeu last season (£250m). Kaka, who Madrid splashed £60m on last summer, could be the money generator with Carlo Ancelotti said to be desperate to reunite with the former Milan midfielder. The move depends on exactly how much Kaka wants to leave the Spanish capital after ‘the Special One’ made it clear no unsettled player will be kept at the Galactico’s next season.

Joe Cole to choose Arsenal for Chelsea exit.

Joe Cole is set to snub moves to Manchester United and Tottenham to sign for Arsenal this summer, according to The Daily Star Sunday. The Blues midfielder is out of contract at the Bridge and negotiations have so far been unsuccessful to convince the England star to extend his stay with the Premier League champions. Currently away on international duty preparing for this summer’s World Cup, Cole’s future is unlikely to be decided until after the tournament in South Africa.

Chelsea favourites for Yaya Toure.

Chelsea have emerged as favorites to sign Barcelona midfielder Yaya Toure, according to Spanish daily, Sport. The Ivory Coast international was linked with a reunion with brother Kolo Toure at Manchester City but is keen to play Champions League football next season after struggling to hold down a place in Pep Guardiola’s side last season. With the future of Chelsea midfielder Joe Cole unclear, a £20m bid for the African star, formerly linked with Arsenal, could be a possibility.
