Upson to leave West Ham.

England international Matthew Upson looks set to leave the Hammers this summer and Liverpool are one of the clubs interested in securing his signature, according to ESPN. Upson has been linked with the Reds on numerous occasions and the centre-back, who is on the verge of being named in Capello’s final squad for the World Cup, is finally looking to consider his options as he aims to move to a bigger club.

Remembering Heysel.

Bells chimed 39 times at 7pm yesterday as Liverpool paid tribute to the 39 fans that died during a riot between Liverpool and Juventus fans before the European Cup final in 1985. Fans of both clubs also took part in a friendly match to mark the sad occasion. Memorials have taken place both in England and Italy meanwhile a new plaque was unveiled at Anfield on Wednesday during a ceremony.

Liverpool goalkeeper Pepe Reina has broken his silence over the turmoil at the club by asking the American owners to walk away from the club, according to the Daily Mail. The Spaniard recently signed a new long-term deal at Anfield but is concerned about the off-field situation. This week has seen pressure intensify on the board, after former Chairman David Moores called for the Americans to quit, and Reina is another key figure call for them to go.
