Arsenal and City join race for Chelsea target Ozil

London rivals Chelsea and Arsenal along with Manchester City, are battling it out for the services of £20m rated Werder Bremen midfielder Mesut Ozil according to the Daily Mail. The skilful starlet was on show in Germany’s 4-0 demolition of Australia in the opening game of their World Cup campaign and Ozil was certainly one of the star men of the show. Interest has now grown in the playmaker with many of England’s top clubs looking to sign him.

It is thought that Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has Ozil in mind as an ideal replacement for the reportedly outgoing Cesc Fabregas. Ozil would fit the bill for Wenger, as he is a young bright talent who would slot well into Arsenal’s passing game mentality. Meanwhile, Chelsea are thought to be favourites for the signature of the 21- year-old as it is claimed they have been tracking him ever since he moved to Werder Bremen.
