Chelsea news – Cech rubbishes Madrid talk, Stoch set for Galatasaray move, Cole deal already done

Every morning A Different League searches the nations press to bring you the latest goings on at Chelsea. Today:

Cole deal already done.

Harry Redknapp fears he has missed out on Joe Cole, according to The Sun. The Spurs boss admitted he would like to sign the 28-year-old England midfielder but is worried the out of contract midfielder has already agreed to join one of Spurs rivals. Redknapp said: “I’m a big fan but I have a feeling he’s already agreed a deal with someone else.” Cole’s career was launched by Redknapp at West Ham before being propelled into Champions league and Premier League title success at Chelsea.

Stoch set for Galatasaray move.

Chelsea’s young midfielder Miroslav Stoch is set to sign for Turkish side Galatasary, according to The Mirror. The paper claims the Slovakian starlet will sign for the Turkish side after the clubs agreed a fee of £2.5m. Stoch spent last season on loan at Dutch champions FC Twente and impressed Galatasary manager Frank Rijkaard enough to see the ex-Barcelona boss splash the cash to bring the midfielder to Turkey, before he heads to this summer’s World Cup with Slovakia.

Cech distances himself from Madrid exit.

Petr Cech has rubbished speculation linking himself with a reunion with Jose Mourinho at Real Madrid. The goalkeeper who is the latest in a long line of Chelsea players linked with a move to the Bernabeu told CTK: “It is common to say ‘never say never’, and it always happens that, if such a coach is appointed at such a big club, plenty of potential targets appear in the press. At the moment it is just at the level of big rumours and I don’t think it is necessary to comment on them at all. Speculation will always be there, but I don’t see it (a transfer) as being realistic. I am happy at Chelsea.”
